You have rights as a patient in New York State whether you are treated in a hospital, clinic, outpatient facility or other healthcare setting. Read these rights outlined in the New York State Patient Bill of Rights.

Your Responsibilities

Thank you for partnering with us and entrusting your care to Burke. Read your responsibilities as a patient at Burke to be an active participant in your care.

Your experience and that of your caregivers at Burke remain our priority. You have the right to file a formal complaint without fear of reprisal in any hospital in New York State. Contact the New York State Department of Health at 1(800) 804-5447 if your concerns regarding patient care or safety are not adequately addressed by us.

You may also contact the Joint Commission's Office of Quality Monitoring to report any concerns or register any complaints.
