Who Needs Occupational Therapy?

Burke can help people 16 and younger on a case-by-case basis who need:

• Assistance in becoming more independent
• Exercises to build fine motor skills and arm, wrist, and hand (upper extremity) function, strength, and flexibility
• Help developing or adapting skills for everyday life and self-care
• Special devices or equipment to make an activity easier to complete

Vivistim Stroke Recovery Program

Burke Rehabilitation participates in the Vivistim Stroke Recovery Program for patients experiencing upper limb impairment after a stroke. Vivistim is a FDA-approved implantable device in the chest which stimulates the vagus nerve, the nerve that carries signals between your brain, heart and digestive system. Vivistim creates new pathways in the brain and boosts brain rewiring for improved upper extremity function.
