What’s an EMG?

An EMG looks at the health and function of muscles and the nerves that control them. The test can help your doctor diagnose the cause of neurological symptoms, such as carpal tunnel syndrome or a herniated disc in your back. Doctors choose treatment based on the diagnosis.
