Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Receives Three-Year Accreditation from The Joint Commission
WHITE PLAINS, NY – June 27, 2017 — Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is proud to announce that it has received another three-year accreditation from The Joint Commission, the gold standard in accreditation for hospitals today.
The Joint Commission was onsite from June 20 through June 22, when four healthcare surveyors reviewed Burke’s physical plant as well as virtually all aspects of patient care, policies and procedures, documentation and infection control. The results of the survey were very positive, with no high risk level issues identified. Any low to moderate issues identified—which do not post a major risk of harm to patients, staff or visitors—will be addressed over the coming days and weeks.
“We are very pleased with the successful results of our Joint Commission survey,” says Jeffrey Menkes, President & CEO of Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. “This accreditation demonstrates Burke’s dedication to providing the best possible patient care and the commitment of our physicians, nurses, therapists and staff in maintaining the Burke standard of excellence for patient care day-in and day-out. We are proud of this accomplishment and attaining another three-year accreditation.”
Along with the hospital, Burke also received another three-year accreditation of its Laboratory. The results of that survey were very favorable, with no issues related to patient safety and only minor recommendations.
In addition to accreditation from The Joint Commission, Burke is also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). These accreditations are both voluntary and ensure that Burke continues to meet their high standards and provide the best care to patients and their families.
