Burke Rehabilitation to Host Food Drive to Benefit the Food Bank of Westchester

White Plains, NY – November 20, 2015 – The holiday season is upon us, and if you’re looking for a way to give back to the community, head to Burke Rehabilitation Center where you can take part in the annual food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Westchester. This year’s goal? To donate 1,000 pounds of food to those in need.

The food drive is taking place now through December 21. Some of the most needed non-perishable items include beans, whole grain cereals, canned meat and fish, shelf stable milk, low-sodium canned meals, canned vegetables, canned or dried fruit, peanut butter, pasta and rice. Glass containers and pre-opened items cannot be accepted.

"Every year, we look forward to giving back to the wonderful Westchester County community that we call home in a way that embodies Burke’s spirit of compassion and care for others. Through the food drive, we are able to help those in need and make their holidays a little brighter," said Annette Bucci, Senior Administrator of Human Resources at Burke Rehabilitation Center.

Drop-off locations for the food drive include the main hospital lobby of Burke Rehabilitation Hospital at 785 Mamaroneck Ave in White Plains and Burke’s outpatient clinics in the Bronx at 2826 Westchester Ave., in Mamaroneck at 703 West Boston Post Rd., in Purchase at 3020 Westchester Ave., in Somers at 325 Route 100, Suite 106, and in Yonkers at 73 Market Place (1st floor) in Ridge Hill.
