Ron Black's 2nd Annual Golf Outing to Benefit Burke Rehabilitation Center's Alzheimer's Research
White Plains, NY – October 8, 2015 –On Monday, October 19, a group of golfers will hit the course for a good cause. The 2nd annual Ron Black’s Beer Hall Golf Outing will be held at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester, with proceeds from the event going to benefit Burke Rehabilitation Center’s Alzheimer’s disease research.
Currently, there are 5.1 million Americans over age 65 living with Alzheimer’s disease—a number that’s expected to skyrocket to 7.1 million Americans by the year 2025, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and its associated research center, the Burke Medical Research Institute in White Plains, are on the forefront of Alzheimer’s research, working with other world-renowned researchers to find ways to treat and minimize the effects of the debilitating condition.
"Burke’s physicians and scientists are making remarkable strides in Alzheimer’s research, and supporting this worthwhile cause will allow them to continue their groundbreaking work and achieve their goal to not only treat the disease, but cure it," said Richard Sgaglio, Ph.D., Senior Administrator for Marketing, Communications & Development at Burke Rehabilitation Center.
Registration for the golf outing begins at 10 a.m., with tee off at 11 a.m. There are a number of on-course contests, including best named teams, closest to the pin on par 3’s, men and women’s longest drive and 1st and 2nd place team awards. Hole in one prizes include a 2015 Jeep, courtesy of Chrysler Jeep of White Plains, and $50,000 cash.
After the golf tournament there will be a dinner at Ron Black’s Beer Hall in White Plains, which will include open bar, dinner, live music and an awards ceremony.
The cost per player is $175 and $50 for a non-player. This includes golf, dinner, open bar and raffle for players and dinner and open bar for non-players.
