Executive Medical Director/CEO of Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Named to American Hospital Association Board of Trustees

White Plains, NY – August 14, 2015 –Burke Rehabilitation Center is proud to announced that Mary Beth Walsh, M.D., the Executive Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of Burke Rehabilitation Hospital has been named to the American Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees. This prestigious national appointment is for three years and begins in January 2016.

Dr. Walsh is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and has been with Burke for 36 years. She has held the position of CEO and Executive Medical Director since 1995 and was the first female CEO of a hospital in Westchester County—and one of the only in New York State. She also serves as the associate dean and associate professor of clinical medicine at Burke’s academic affiliate, Weill Cornell Medical College, and is an assistant attending physician at the Hospital for Special Surgery, both in New York City.

Dr. Walsh received her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. Along with her work at Burke, she is currently a member of the American Hospital Association’s Committee for Process Improvement and was a delegate with the AHA’s Regional Policy Board 2.
