Date: Sunday, October 1st, 2017, Time: 12:30-5:00 p.m., Location: Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, Wood Pavilion, Building #7.
It is very important for patients with spinal cord injuries to have access to specialized services that are not readily available in their community. That is why Burke hosts a special day where SCI patients and caregivers can travel to Burke’s campus for a day of education on available services and get any questions they may have answered by an expert in the field. Burke staff and therapists will be on hand to answer those questions and give you a tour of the gyms. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about what Burke does each day to help SCI patients recover.
The event will feature speakers and vendors that address the many specific needs of spinal cord injury patients that may not be met by the community as a whole. Some of these needs include transportation and accessibility, assisted living, recreation, nutrition, access to medical supplies, and physical and restorative therapies.
There will even be a performance by comedian Damon Rozier. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call (914) 597-2305.
