CRRN Certifications

Published September 8, 2017

At Burke, we encourage all of our staff to grow and develop professionally and continue their education and training in their specific field. It is important as an employer to foster growth and professional development so that our staff remain motivated and effective. An example of this is many of our physicians being experts in their fields, and our nurses being highly trained and certified.

Burke nurses Mercy Mathew and Olesja Whelan recently passed their CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) exam.

According to the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN), a widely accepted and trusted credential for over 24 years, the CRRN certification applies to all aspects of rehabilitation nursing practice. CRRN certified nurses “demonstrate knowledge, experience and commitment to excellence in comprehensive care for people with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses in all specialties and settings of rehabilitation.”

Burke employees are committed to patient centered excellence, and this dedication is apparent when the staff challenge themselves to obtain certifications above and beyond what is required in their positions. Physicians and nurses excelling in their specific fields and working hard to elevate the standard of care are a few of the many reasons Burke stands out in the community as a leader in the field of medical rehabilitation.
