Come join the Burke Auxiliary for their annual brunch on Sunday, September 17th from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the Patient Dining room. The Burke Rehabilitation Auxiliary, established in 1959, is a group of men and women dedicated to two basic goals:
- To raise money for Burke Rehabilitation Hospital
- To serve as volunteers
Since its beginning more than 50 years ago, the Burke Auxiliary has donated over $1 million to special projects at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. The Auxiliary sponsors many events and activities throughout the year.
This year, Burke’s Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Marie Spencer, CRRN, Ph.D. will speak to attendees about the role of nursing in rehabilitation and Burke’s highly trained “Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses.” This CRRN designation ensures that nurses have received ongoing and advanced training in the area of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Burke patients benefits from nurses who have training working with the unique needs of this patient population. Tickets for the brunch are $30 each. For more information or to make a reservation, please contact Peg Cataldo, at (914) 428-1997 or Loretta Nelson at (914) 381-0968.
