Burke Auxiliary Donates $30,000 to Hospital Projects

Published July 11, 2017

Since its founding in 1959, the Burke Auxiliary—a volunteer group—has raised over $1 million to fund various projects throughout the hospital. And this year was no exception: the group donated $30,000, which will go towards a number of initiatives.

These initiatives include funding programs, equipment and technology purchases. For example, the money donated will go towards the purchase of a muscle stimulation bike for the outpatient physical therapy department, a vein viewing system to help easily find veins for blood draws for the nursing department and even a iPad Pro for the neuropsychology department.

The Auxiliary is a group made up of men and women dedicated to serving as hospital volunteers and to raising money to support Burke. The group, which holds numerous events throughout the year, such as wine tastings and theater trips, are always welcoming new members.
