If you haven’t visited Burke’s website, www.burke.org lately, now’s the time to take a look. In January, Burke launched a redesign of the site, making it more user-friendly and easier to navigate.
The site now has a fresh new look, more content and increased functionality. It is still easy to browse and search and continues to provide you with all the important information you need to know about Burke.
You’ll notice the site is broken down into four sections: inpatient, outpatient, education and community.
Inpatient: Under the inpatient section, you’ll find everything you need to know about Burke’s world-renowned inpatient rehabilitation programs, learn more about our physicians and leadership and discover how to become an inpatient. Plus, there is must-know information about when you’re admitted as an inpatient, as well as testimonials, videos and recommendations for life after Burke.
Outpatient: Once you’re discharged from the inpatient hospital, if you need to continue your therapy at Burke, you can do so at one of our 6 outpatient clinics throughout Westchester and the Bronx. This section of the website will help you navigate just that. It will let you know what programs are available (such as our METS program, Driver Evaluation and Cardiac Rehab) as well as what services are offered at each clinic. There is an also an FAQ and you’ll learn more about the outpatient staff and patient information.
Education: This section of the website highlights the educational offerings at Burke, which range from the new ACGME-approved Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program, which began in July 2016, to the two-year Neurorehabilitation Fellowship program to summer programs available to college students. This section also includes information on the important clinical research being done at the hospital, including many studies which are openly recruiting patients.
Community: For a full listing of all the community programs available at Burke, including support groups, special events, and happenings, visit the community section. This is also where you’ll find information on Burke’s Fitness Center, including a schedule of classes, pricing and hours, as well as about Burke’s adaptive sports program, which enables people of all abilities to take part in sports and recreation.
Along with all these sections, the website also contains information for the media, about career opportunities, how to donate to Burke, the weekly blog and lots more. And you can feel free to check out the website from any device—as a fully responsive site, it adjusts automatically based on how you access it, whether that’s on a desktop, tablet or phone.
