Burke Centenary, 4th Wound Healing Teaching Day

Statement of Purpose: The teaching day will educate the attendees about prevention, early recognition, treatment, and comprehensive management of pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers, which are commonly encountered by physicians in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Course Objectives:  At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Optimize pressure ulcer, leg ulcer and diabetic foot ulcer outcomes.

2. Learn about topical agents’ dressings and biological therapies.

3. Become familiar with the indications for and how to facilitate providing durable medical equipment for wound management.

4. Learn about the evaluation and management wound infections such as cellulites and osteomyelitis.

Registration: Complimentary for BWAFP members, family medicine physicians and residents and family medicine interest group (FMIG) students and Burke and Montefiore Einstein Staff. Maximum capacity is 80. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
