Grant Workshop for Individuals with SCI

In honor of National SCI Awareness month, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Presents:
A GRANT WORKSHOP
FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SCI
When: Monday, September 21st, 2015 from 5:15 – 7:00 pm
Where: Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, 785 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY 10605
Patient Dining Room, 1st Fl., Main Hospital (Bldg. #7)
Join the Adapted Sports Coordinator from Helen Hayes Hospital, Matthew Castelluccio, and Coordinator of Burke’s Hand Cycle Program, Alexandra Oudheusden to learn about the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) Access for Athletes, Kelly Brush Foundation and Travis Roy Foundation’s Grants. A light dinner will be served.
You may apply for one of the following areas:
- Coaching/training fees, like a gym membership and coaching fees
- Adaptive Sports competition expenses, like entry fees, flights and lodging for an event.
- Adaptive Equipment that is a necessity (Wheelchair, Bed, Ramp, Lift, etc.)
- A specific piece of Adaptive Sports Equipment (Monoski, Hand Cycle, FES Bike, etc.)
By attending this workshop you will receive an overview of the grants, learn the process for applying, and develop a timeline for meeting the deadline. Any professionals who work with physical disabilities and family members of individuals with physical disabilities are also encouraged to attend.
