Celebrate spring—and Burke’s centennial—with a 5K road race and walk on the Burke campus on May 3. The event is open to all, enabling walkers, runners and wheelchair athletes to compete together in a fun race. Plus, kids between the ages of 4 and 12 can get in on the fun as well with a Kids Fun Run the same day.
The 5K starts at 9 a.m. and begins and ends on the Burke campus. (Note: a portion of the race does take place off campus.) There are a total of 8 classes, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places awarded for the following categories: runner male and female, racing chair male and female and hand cycle male and female.
The Kids Fun Run kicks off at 10:30 a.m. and features a 100-yard dash, ¼ mile run and ½ mile run, depending on the age group.
