Get in Shape and Stay Healthy: Join the Burke Fitness Center

Published January 7, 2015

Start off 2015 on the right foot with a membership to Burke’s Fitness Center. The Fitness Center—located in the Billings building on Burke’s White Plains campus—is designed for adults 40 and older to provide a comfortable and safe environment for exercise.

Based on your health history and goals, one of Burke’s certified personal trainers will design a specific exercise program for you. To help, the fitness center features FitLinxx, a specially-designed computer system that enables personal trainers to set up a members' program at each exercise machine. This allows for more instruction on each visit to reduce the amount of injuries caused by improper use of fitness equipment. The FitLinxx system also tracks everything you do so that you can easily see the results of your exercise program.

The Fitness Center offers a variety of different programs. Along with traditional gym equipment, fitness classes, including Stretch & Tone and Silver Sneakers, as well as yoga, tai chi and adaptive classes are also available. So whether just completed rehabilitative therapy, have an on-going medical condition, or are simply interested in getting into shape, Burke's Fitness Center is for you.

To learn more, including membership pricing and schedule of classes, visit burke.org/community/fitness-center or call (914) 597-2805. A physician's approval is required to join.
