Burke Rehabilitation Hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Program will host World COPD Day, a day of education and life enhancement seminars for individuals living with chronic lung conditions and their caregivers in the tri-state areas, on Nov. 20. The World COPD Day events will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Burke Rehabilitation Center’s Wood Pavilion, Building #7, at 785 Mamaroneck Ave., in White Plains.
Lectures will cover topics such as living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), nutrition and COPD, traveling with oxygen, exercise and lung disease, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques and pulmonary rehabilitation. Free screenings, support group information and inhaler and nebulizer demonstrations will be offered.
Exhibitors include Westchester County Office of Aging, the American Lung Association POW’R Against Tobacco, Lifeline, and representatives from area community wellness programs and medical equipment companies.
