If you have had a stroke, experienced a brain or spinal cord injury, developed a neurological condition or had a complicated knee or hip replacement, Burke' intensive inpatient rehabilitation can maximize your recovery. Our expert rehabilitation teams are committed to helping you attain the most active, independent and productive life possible.
Your program is tailored to your individual needs by integrating services from various disciplines. These services may include physical, occupational, respiratory, speech and recreation therapies, specialty medicine, nursing care, case management and social work.
In group discussions and individual counseling sessions, you and your family will consider the adjustments resulting from physical disability, and prepare for a new way of life. While most Burke inpatients return to their homes or communities after discharge, care may continue as needed through Burke's outpatient department.
Burke Rehabilitation Hospital welcomes inquiries from prospective patients and their families, from hospital case managers and discharge planners and from physicians and other health care providers. Since Burke’s inpatient programs are intensive and have specific physical requirements, patients are carefully screened by our medical staff to determine their suitability for acute rehabilitation. The screening is free of charge, and the admission process can begin immediately upon referral. Admission is done on a case-by-case basis, to ensure proper evaluation, identify each individual's needs, and determine a rehabilitation prognosis.*
