Program Opportunities
Annual Medical Student Fair at Burke Rehabilitation
Each fall, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital hosts its annual Medical Student Fair, an event now in its third year, held most recently in October. Supported by the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) through grant funding and by Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, the fair highlights the interdisciplinary nature of rehabilitation medicine. Through a series of interactive, hands-on stations, students gain direct exposure to core aspects of the field, including ultrasound demonstrations, spasticity management workshops, wheelchair and prosthetics/orthotics introductions, and adaptive sports activities. The fairs have been a great success, fostering interest in physiatry and providing a dynamic learning experience that showcases the collaborative and innovative spirit of rehabilitation medicine.
