Inpatient Hemodialysis at Burke

On-site Hemodialysis (HD) treatment services were initiated at Burke in March 2024, being the first and only free-standing rehabilitation hospital in New York State to offer on-site hemodialysis capabilities. Burke Rehabilitation’s desire to start providing on site HD was driven by the need to expand access to inpatient rehabilitation for this medically complex patient population with their unique treatment needs. It is our hypothesis that these services – now all in one building – can help improve our complex care provision, as well as physical and functional outcomes via our interdisciplinary team designed to serve complex needs.
