tDCS & Language Recovery After Stroke

Objective

Clinical Trial Details

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a nonsignificant risk device by the FDA, a form of non-invasive brain stimulation, is available at Burke Rehabilitation which may help individuals improve their speech after a stroke. Qualifying participants receive up to 24 speech therapy sessions over a 4-to-6-month period.

Do I Qualify?

You may qualify if:

  • You had a single stroke on the left side of your brain at least 6 months ago
  • You are right-handed
  • You have apraxia of speech (AOS)
  • English is your main language
  • You can travel to Burke Outpatient in White Plains, NY, at least 3 times a week
