What is ASPIRE ?
Burke became the first inpatient rehabilitation facility-based recruitment site for Anticoagulation for Stroke Prevention and Recovery after Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ASPIRE) trial within the National Institutes of Health StrokeNet Collaborative.

Clinical Trial Details
This clinical trial aims to determine if apixaban is better at aspirin in preventing another stroke in patients who had a stroke and are diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF).

Do I Qualify?
You may qualify if:
- You are 18 or older
- You had bleeding in your brain (intracerebral or intraventricular hemorrhage), and a CT scan or MRI showed it
- Your brain bleed happened between 2 weeks and 6 months ago
- You have a heart condition called atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter
