Calling All Volunteers: Burke's Recreational Therapy Department Needs Your Help

Are you looking to help others? Interested in the healthcare field? Looking to work with people with disabilities?

We need your help!

Burke's Recreational Therapy Department is currently seeking volunteers from high school-aged teens through adults to help patients participate in activities during the week from 4-5:30 pm or on Sundays from 2:30-4:30 pm. Volunteers interact directly with our patients, but do not perform any aspects of patient care.

The Recreational Therapy Department is looking for:

  • New Patient Greeter
  • Recreation Activity Assistant
  • Adaptive Sports Clinics Assistant
  • Adaptive Sports Administrative Support
  • Handcycling Partner
  • Kayaking Partner
  • Boxing Assistant
  • Equipment and Supplies Inventory Assistant
  • Photographer/Videographer

Burke holds adaptive sports and recreation clinics throughout the year. You do not need to be well versed in the sport to volunteer.

For more information on volunteering, call Eileen Andreassi, Director of Recreational Therapy and Adaptive Sports at 914-597-2248 for an interview.
