Volunteer Services

Volunteers help make Burke Rehabilitation Hospital the unique and friendly facility that it is. Over the years, thousands of individuals, families and community organizations have donated their time and talents at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. From working at our gift shop, to the information desk, to assisting in the Marsal Caregiver Center, volunteers are integral to Burke's care. Many of Burke’s volunteers contribute to Burke by joining our active Auxiliary.

Below are some examples of volunteer opportunities at Burke:

  • The Burke Gift Shop
  • Marsal Caregiver Center Care Ambassadors
  • Information Desk
  • Patient Visits
  • Clerical Assistant
  • Recreational Therapy Department Assistance
  • Special Events

We ask adult volunteers to commit to three hours, one day a week. Teenage volunteers are asked to make a commitment of 40 hours during a six-month period. The minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old.

Volunteering is a great way to give back. Thank you, in advance, for thinking of Burke! We welcome your interest and appreciate your willingness to offer your time and services. We look forward to partnering with you.

Please note that not all volunteer positions may have the need for new volunteers. However, we will do our best to accommodate you.

"Every time I volunteer at Burke I feel very grateful for the experience.  I receive more than I give."

-- Fran De Soiza,
Burke Volunteer since 1995
