Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Welcomes Two New Board members
Esteemed Professionals Andrew D. Cohen, Ph.D., and Kevin J. McCarthy Join Board of Trustees
White Plains, NY (October 16, 2024) – Burke Rehabilitation announced today the appointment of Andrew D. Cohen, Ph.D., Partner at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, and Kevin J. McCarthy, Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield, to its Hospital Board of Trustees to advise the nationally recognized and accredited not-for-profit provider of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Cohen joins the Board with over 15 years of experience working in patent law, with an emphasis on life science patent litigation. As a trained organic chemist, Dr. Cohen leverages his scientific background to translate complicated technology into easy-to-understand terms. Dr. Cohen is a well-rounded litigator, representing clients in complex commercial disputes, in particular those that have a connection to science or technology. Dr. Cohen maintains an active pro bono practice in areas of civil rights, immigration, and housing, particularly in White Plains, NY and surrounding communities, where he and his family have lived for 15 years.

Kevin McCarthy joins the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Board of Trustees, guided by his two decades of experience in commercial real estate, currently serving as a Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield. In this role, he provides strategic real estate solutions for tenants, landlords, owners, and buyers, with a focus on the tristate area. Mr. McCarthy has a history of community and nonprofit involvement as a lifelong resident of White Plains, NY. His affiliation with Villanova University as an advisory board member and mentorship representative at the Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate underscores his commitment to fostering future leaders.
