Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
The Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation program helps patients with heart disease recover faster and regain full, productive lifestyles, the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Burke includes exercise, education and counseling to promote healthier living.
Under the direction of Murray Low, Ed.D., Burke’s Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Department offers two programs: The Phase II Program, which requires a doctor’s prescription, consists of a series of 36 supervised, physician-monitored exercise sessions with continuous electrocardiograph monitoring and regular communication with the referring physician. This program is covered by Medicare and most other insurance plans.
The Phase III Program is an unmonitored program which requires medical clearance. It is offered through the Smart Fitness Center at Burke and includes an exercise regimen under the expert supervision of Burke’s certified fitness instructors. State-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, and personalized services, are part of the medically-based Phase III Program.
