WHITE PLAINS, NY - June 7, 2011 -- In its ongoing commitment to delivering quality and convenient outpatient services in the community, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital has announced the opening of a new outpatient rehabilitation clinic at 703 West Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck, NY. The clinic will be open to patients for physical therapy appointments beginning on June 13th.
The 4,600 sq. ft., single story facility will feature state-of-the-art physical therapy equipment for patients who have undergone joint replacement surgery or suffered an injury or illness that requires outpatient therapy. The Mamaroneck clinic will be the newest addition to the hospital’s satellite outpatient facilities. Conveniently located on the Boston Post Road, the clinic is easily accessible to residents of Mamaroneck, Larchmont, the surrounding shore communities as well as the city of New Rochelle. The clinic will expand Burke’s satellite outpatient clinics which already include White Plains, Purchase and the Bronx.
According to Steve Tisser, PT, Senior Administrator, Outpatient Services, “This new facility will offer additional options for patients requiring outpatient physical therapy in southern Westchester County. The decision was made to open an additional outpatient clinic to address the growing need for outpatient services in the county.” Over the past several years, outpatient visits have risen considerably and Burke has experienced a 34 % increase in the number of outpatient therapy visits since 2005. In 2010, Burke provided nearly 70,000 outpatient visits which represented an increase of 5,800 visits from 2009. With the continued increase in the need for outpatient therapy, this is an important addition to the comprehensive rehabilitation services offered by Burke Rehabilitation Hospital at the main hospital campus and available through our satellite centers,” he added.
