The goal of Burke's inpatient programs is to ensure that each patient makes the maximum recovery possible.
The Burke Medical Research Institute is developing new treatments for disabling diseases and injuries.
Burke offers physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as other outpatient programs.
Burke sponsors support groups, educational events and fitness programs for the community.
Course Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Optimize pressure ulcer, leg ulcer and diabetic foot ulcer outcomes.
2. Learn about topical agents’ dressings and biological therapies.
3. Become familiar with the indications for and how to facilitate providing durable medical equipment for wound management.
4. Learn about the evaluation and management wound infections such as cellulites and osteomyelitis.
Registration: Complimentary for BWAFP members, family medicine physicians and residents and family medicine interest group (FMIG) students and Burke and Montefiore Einstein Staff. Maximum capacity is 80. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
