The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and Burke Medical Research Institute (BMRI) is pleased to host a visit by United States Military Academy cadets on Friday, September 26. The visit will give select cadets majoring in Life Sciences, Psychology and Kinesiology the opportunity to learn about the cutting-edge work done by Burke neurologists, physical and occupational therapists, and researchers. Burke’s affiliation with Weill Cornell Medical College gives it a unique position as a world-class primary treatment and research center in the New York City area.
“We hope this visit will also promote downstream interactions among like-minded institutions that have a common interest in developing therapies for traumatic brain injury,” said Kevin J. O’Donovan, Ph.D., an Adjunct Faculty member at BMRI and Assistant Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy.
The day will begin with opening remarks by Rajiv R. Ratan, M.D., Ph.D., Executive Director of BMRI, followed by tours of the hospital and research facilities, and a meet and greet with Burke researchers.
