Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is hosting a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) Review Course on Oct. 2 and 3 in the Rosedale Conference Room on Burke's main campus at 785 Mamaroneck Avenue, Billings Building, in White Plains.
CRRN certification is a generalist certification and is appropriate for professional rehabilitation nurses. The Registered Nursing Certification Board's mission is to promote excellence in care by validating qualifications and specialized knowledge in rehabilitation nursing.
Burke is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the New Jersey State Nurses Association and an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Upon completion of the program, participants will be awarded 15.5 contact hours for the two-day course.
The program will cover how to assess patients with a rehabilitation diagnosis and identify interventions that meet individual needs; evaluate and apply rehabilitation principles in a variety of clinical situations; and also be able to explain the the impact of rehabilitation services including direct care delivery and case management. Other topics covered during the course will include: Cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, spinal cord injury, neuropsychology, traumatic brain injury and ortho/amputee injuries.
The full two-day course is $250 but individuals can also take the one-day course for $150.
