Burke's Wheelchair Games gives those with physical impairments an opportunity to stay fit, enjoy sports, and compete. Burke is now accepting registrations for the Games. The competitive categories include a Futures Division (six and under), two Junior Divisions and an Adult/Master Division. Beginning at 9 a.m. there will be field, table tennis, a slalom (obstacle) course. Track events start at 1:30 p.m.
Entries received by Sept. 1 are entitled to a $5 discount on the regular registration fee of $25. Financial assistance also is available for those who cannot afford the registration fee as Burke encourages all athletes to participate in this event, regardless of their ability to pay. The registration fee also includes an event t-shirt, lunch and a goody bag.

The 2013 Heels & Wheels 5K Road Race & Walk will be right after the start of the Wheelchair Games. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race/walk starts at 10 a.m. The race route begins and ends at the Burke campus.
There is a $25 fee for participants 16 years and older who pre-register and $30 after the pre-registration deadline of Friday, Sept. 13. Children ages 6 - 15 years old have a fee of $10 when paid in advance and $15 after the pre-registration deadline; and children under 5 years old are free. The fee includes an event t-shirt, numbered bib and timing device.The event is free for spectators and community members are encouraged to attend and support the participants.
