Burke offers physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as other outpatient programs.
Burke sponsors support groups, educational events and fitness programs for the community.
The 2013 Heels & Wheels 5K Road Race and Walk will be held on Sept. 28, right after the start of the 2013 Wheelchair Games. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. The race will begin and end at the Burke campus.
There is a $25 fee for participants 16 years and older who pre-register and $30 after the pre-registration deadline of Friday, Sept. 13. Children ages 6 - 15 years old have a fee of $10 when paid in advance and $15 after the pre-registration deadline; and children under 5 years old are free. The fee includes an event t-shirt, numbered bib and timing device.The event is free for spectators and community members are encouraged to attend and support the participants.

Be a Heels & Wheels Volunteer
People can also participate by volunteering to help during the event. Like the Wheelchair Games, the Heels & Wheels race is produced entirely by volunteers, including Burke employees and people from the community. If you would like to volunteer for this unique and worthwhile event, please complete the volunteer registration form and return it by Friday, Sept. 6, to Sandra Alexandrou, via fax at (914) 597-2829.
