Pasquale Fonzetti, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman of the Institutional Review Board, Associate Director of the Memory Evaluation and Treatment Service (METS) and Staff Neurologist at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and Gary E. Gibson, Ph.D., Director of the Laboratory for Mitochondrial Biology and Metabolic Dysfunction in Neurodegeneration at the Burke Medical Research Institute and Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medical College, will provide insight about Burke's Memory Evaluation and Treatment Service (METS) for disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease, and give a medical perspective about memory disorders during the Brain Health & Memory seminar to be held on Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dr. Fonzetti and Dr. Gibson will discuss how METS provides comprehensive outpatient assessment and treatment of memory disorders.
Along with the METS presentation, participants will be able to meet Nelson Dellis, a two-time world memorization champion, who will teach simple memorization techniques you can use at work and home. Dan Cohen, maker of Alive Inside, a film that reveals how music helps Alzheimer’s victims recover “lost” memory, will also present at the event.
The event, sponsored by PepsiCo, will be held at the Purchase Amphitheatre and available via live webcast.
