Fit-4-Life After Stroke
For post-Cerebrovascular Accident patients (CVA) who do not require ongoing physician-prescribed physical therapy or occupational therapy. The program is stratified into levels to help meet the different functional needs of participants.
Fee: $234 for a three month membership.
Fit-4-Life Parkinson's
For individuals with Parkinson’s disease who do not require ongoing physician-prescribed physical therapy or occupational therapy. A caregiver may be required to be present during the class.
Fee: $156 for a three month membership.
Fit-4-Life COPD
For individuals with pulmonary disease who do not require ongoing physician-prescribed physical therapy or occupational therapy, or pulmonary rehabilitation. A pulse oximeter is available for clients to check their blood oxygen levels. A caregiver may be required to be present during the class.
Fee: $156 for a three month membership.
Fit-4-Life Strength and Conditioning
For individuals with orthopedic or neurological conditions who do not require ongoing physician-prescribed physical therapy or occupational therapy, and want to continue with a structured community based exercise program. Participants should be able to independently transfer and walk with or without an assistive device. A caregiver may be required to be present during the class.
Fee: $234 for three month membership; $156 for twice a week class.
For individuals with neurologic impairments or people using wheelchairs, the Burke Fitness Challenge provides an individualized exercise program to maintain or improve cardiovascular and muscular stamina. Membership includes 2-3 orientation sessions with a trained professional to help build the appropriate exercise program and determine which equipment is beneficial for use. A staff member will always be present to help answer any questions, and progress members upon request. The program takes place in the Outpatient Physical Therapy department.
